Courtney, a lifelong Republican and Christian, knows her position on the school board is one that is non-partisan….she must serve all of the students of Hood County, not just those who align with her political or religious views. Her principled, conservative values serve the community well, yet she serves without bias, knowing that a community that educates ALL of the students of this district will continue to prosper and grow.
As a school board trustee, I am committed to fostering a supportive and thriving educational environment for our students, teachers, and community.
My platform is built on collaboration, transparency, and a shared vision for the future of our schools. Together, we can create a nurturing atmosphere where every child has the opportunity to succeed.
Partner with Parents: We recognize that parents are essential partners in the educational process. During my tenure as a trustee we have advocated for and implemented stronger communication channels, including regular forums, newsletters, and community initiated town halls that empower parents to engage with their children’s education actively. I will continue to implement initiatives that encourage parental involvement in school activities and decision-making processes, ensuring that every voice is heard and valued. Respecting parental rights was a cornerstone during my first campaign and remains a top priority today.
Community Involvement: A thriving school system is rooted in community support. As your trustee, I have worked to strengthen the connection between schools and local organizations, businesses, and volunteers. By fostering partnerships, we enhance educational opportunities, provide resources, and create a network of support that benefits our students and families. A more informed and involved community makes for better public education. Community events and collaborative projects will continue to be prioritized to build a sense of belonging and shared responsibility.
Take Care of Teachers & Staff: Our teachers and staff are the backbone of our education system. During my tenure as a Trustee we prioritized their well-being by advocating for competitive salaries, professional development opportunities, and robust support systems. I was on the front lines actively working to get our teachers and staff better pay by informing our community of and advocating for the VATRE. Research shows that teachers are the most important factor in student achievement and success. By creating a supportive work environment, we can retain talented educators and staff, ensuring that they are equipped to inspire and guide our students effectively.
